Dr MacLeod Scientist and Educator

 

 

 

I have a degree in Chemistry from Glasgow University and a Ph.D from Strathclyde University. I obtained my postgraduate teacher training from Paisley University.

 

My career started off in the chemical and biotech industries. I have worked for GSK and Avecia and enjoyed the problem solving, and practical hands-on aspect of working in industry.

 

Since 2007 I have been employed in education; teaching in schools, colleges, university and as a trainer in industry. For 5 years I worked in an international school in France teaching chemistry and physics. I feel that all educators should first have used their disciplines in 'real life' environments to be truly effective teachers. Though I have tutored for many years, from January 2024 I have been working exclusively as an online tutor. The aim of my tutoring service is to provide a high quality service at a reasonable price.

I have two children so I am a very busy parent. I enjoy keeping fit (running and cycling), also I enjoy painting and drawing.

 

Students I have taught come from the four corners of Britain including London, Cambridge, Oxford, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and the Highlands and Islands. But also from overseas including Bahrain and France.
